(Core Values - described)

Passionate Spirituality that's fueled by prayer and obedience to God's Word and Spirit
We do this by…

  • seeking to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength.
  • fostering an environment of spontaneous and organized prayer, and through teaching, modeling, asking for prayer, and receiving prayer.
  • growing in sensitivity and obedience to the presence and voice of God's Holy Spirit in both our individual lives and corporate gatherings.
  • challenging ourselves and each other to grow in our personal walk with Jesus through spiritual disciplines and Christ-inspired faith risks.
  • expressing and celebrating with each other the goodness and works of God in our individual lives, in our life together as a church, and in our community.

Genuinely Inviting People to Follow Jesus in ways that show Jesus cares about ll of our needs
We do this by . . .

  • taking personal responsibility for developing relationships with people as a primary means of outreach.
  • providing or partnering with ministries that meet the needs of people in our community and other parts of the world.
  • creatively using our facilities and resources as an extension of this invitation for the community and The Door to connect.

Dynamic Friendships that are honest and reaching out
We do this by . . .

  • continually pursuing new friendships and cultivating existing healthy relationships.
  • inviting Jesus into the center of our relationships.
  • meeting people where they are in life’s journey and passionately seeking God together.
  • fostering an atmosphere of affirmation, accountability, support, and joy.

Inspiring Worship Services that engage our whole being with passion to love and obey God

We do this by…

  • proclaiming God's Word with clarity, creativity, and relevance for today.
  • creating an environment that fosters anticipation and participation.
  • honoring where people are on their spiritual journey.
  • preparing our hearts for the worship service and then engaging this time with a posture of openness to all God wants to do in us and through us in the service and the week ahead.

Everyone Serving in ways that use our time, talents, and finances to advance The Door's God given mission
We do this by . . .

  • emulating the significance of Jesus' example of commitment to serving the Father and others.
  • challenging each person to be a contributor to the team instead of spectators of the team.
  • helping individuals to identify their gifts and passions, then assist them in matching these with opportunities to serve.
  • (tithing) setting aside 10% of our income & returning it to God by bringing it to our local church (The Door) and by giving above the tithe (offering).
  • defining responsibilities, expectations, qualifications, and oversight for all ministry areas.

Empowering Leadership that inspires, motivates, coaches, and equips leaders to partner in the purposes of God

We do this by…
  • making decisions based on prayer and a posture of committed obedience to God.
  • communicating a compelling and inspiring vision of the future that combines ministry needs, church member involvement, and organizational structure.
  • ensuring depth of leadership (in character and in a variety of maturity levels) through ongoing opportunities to develop, grow, and plant churches.
  • implementing an annual process for vision, budget, planning, evaluation, and follow-up that remains accountable to our mission and core values.
  • leaders being servants and cultivating teams who work in unity around a shared vision.

Relevant Connection Groups that are open and welcoming to people wherever they may be on their journey
We do this by…

  • upholding connection groups as the center for integrating into The Door, for growth, and for dynamic friendships within the church.
  • fostering a safe, growing, and healing environment that encourage God’s restoration through sharing, prayer, support, and teaching.
  • promoting the creation of more groups and inspiring people to lead those groups.
  • providing groups that that go inwardly deep in order to be outwardly authentic Christ followers.
“You are members of God's family. We are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We who believe are carefully joined together, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.” Ephesians 2:20-21
